The challenge

Citadel bought a powerful platform called ValuationMetrics (VM) to strengthen its fundraising strategy by combining financial insights with investor relationship tracking. We had been the technological partner for many years for ValuationMetrics, so we had to integrate our work into Citadel's infrastructure.

Tech stack

The project brings together a diverse set of technologies, each contributing to performance, scalability, and compliance:

  • Data Loader: Built with C++, Go, and Perl to handle data efficiently and reliably.

  • Backend: Powered by Ruby on Rails for the web application and C++ for high-performance matching.

  • Frontend: A frontend written in JavaScript delivers a flexible and user-friendly interface.

The project

The VM project has a long history. We began working together around 2016.

We have contributed to ValuationMetrics throughout the years and continue doign so after their acquisition by Citadel in 2021, where we led the integration of both platforms during an ambitious M&A process.

Nowadays, we continue developing the platform, designing and developing new products for the group, managing their infrastructure and complying with Citadel's strict data security policies.

Given the nature of the project, we can't disclose any further information.

Long-term partners

We have been working together for almost 10 years, so we know the platform inside out.

Experience in M&A

We've experienced M&A in multiple clients over the years, so we know what's expected in each stage.

Async comms

Our teams spread across multiple timezones, so we work asynchronously to optimise working hours.
